Mr. Evans

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what estimate he has made of the cost to public funds of sending literature to every home in Wales on the Government's devolution proposals. [12722]

The cost was under £164,000.

Mr. Evans

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the net cost of producing the White Paper on the Government's proposals for a Welsh Assembly. [12717]

The net cost was £77,480.

Mr. Evans

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many civil servants currently work in the Welsh Office; and how many he estimates will work in the Welsh Office after the implementation of his devolution proposals. [12689]

Mr. Davies

The Welsh Office currently employs 2,224 full-time equivalent staff. This figures includes 140 casual staff.

My estimate of the number employed by the Welsh Office after establishment of the Welsh Assembly is set out in paragraph 4.45 of the White Paper "A Voice for Wales", copies of which are available in the Vote Office.

2 Patients identified with MRSA (ethicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus); only a proportion of these will have clinical illness. Screening and reporting practices may differ from hospital to hospital. The date is the date specimen was received by the hospital. The health authority is the area of residence of the patient or area of reporting laboratory if area of residence of patient is not known.
