I have asked that the next phase be relevant to growing markets in the developing world. I hope that Foresight will broaden its agenda to accommodate the principles of the White Paper on International Development.

§ Clare ShortMy Department is working closely with the Office of Science and Technology to ensure that the principles espoused in the Government's White Paper on International Development (Cm 3789) are accommodated in the Technology Foresight programme. My hon. Friend the Under Secretary of State for International494W Development will be a member of the recently announced Ministerial group which will co-ordinate the Foresight programme.
