Further to his Written Answer of 14 October 1997 (WA 175), what were the dates on which the contracts for the refurbishment of the Lord Chancellor's residence were approved, and when the work began; and whether the contracts were fixed price contracts and, if so, what was the cost of each.
§ The Chairman of CommitteesThe table below shows the contracts which have been placed. Tenders for the remaining work are being invited as design details are approved. The electrical work and automatic fire alarm installation began in August 1997. Builders' work and plumbing began on 11 September 1997. Decorating work began on 24 October 1997. All contracts are fixed price.
