HC Deb 11 November 1997 vol 300 c528W
Mr. Colvin

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what is his estimate of the number of trainees that are likely to qualify for modem apprenticeship this year; and what is his estimate of the trend for the next three years. [13900]

Dr. Howells

The number of people joining Modem Apprenticeships in 1997–98 is planned to be about 62,500.

All Government-funded programmes are currently being reviewed as part of the Departmental Spending Review. Plans for 1998–99 and later years will be announced in due course.
