§ Mrs. Browning[holding answer 13 March 1997]: Interested organisations have been asked for their comments on proposals received from the European Commission in respect of directive 93/119/EC on the protection of animals at the time of slaughter or killing. The UK approach to both issues identified by the hon. Member will be carefully considered, taking into account the views expressed by all those consulted.
