To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the locations in respect of which the Intervention Board has offered contracts to incinerator companies for which planning permission has subsequently been(a) refused and (b) granted. [20811]

The Intervention Board offers contracts to incineration companies only when it has obtained all necessary consents and licences.

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the incinerator companies to whom the Intervention Board has issued letters of intent for the burning of(a) cattle carcases and (b) the rendered meat and bonemeal remains of slaughtered cattle in the past six months. [20809]

Nine letters of intent have been issued to prospective suppliers of carcase burning facilities. The companies are:

  • P. J. Hayman
  • Euromet
  • Kingsclear Technologies and Associated Companies Ltd.
  • Sacone Industries Ltd.
  • Canfield Incineration Ltd.
  • Time-Right Ltd.
  • WRE Services Ltd.
  • Durga Environmental Ltd.
  • Bronzeoak Thermal Processing Ltd.

No letters of intent have been issued in respect of incineration of rendered meat and bonemeal although there have been expressions of interest by potential suppliers in a current tender.
