To ask the President of the Board of Trade when he will appoint the chairman of the Chemical Weapons Convention Advisory Committee. [20064]

I have appointed Dr. T. D. Inch, Secretary-General of the Royal Society of Chemistry, as chairman of the National Authority Advisory Committee for an initial period of four years.
The other members will be announced in time for the committee to be in place before the convention enters into force on 29 April 1997.
