Mr. Donohoe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when Scottish Homes expects to proceed with the ballot of its remaining tenants within the Cunninghame, South constituency in order to find a new landlord. [19397]

Mr. Robertson

I am advised that Scottish Homes intends to seek outline proposals from alternative landlords interested in the transfer of Scottish Homes; stock in the Irvine and Kilwinning areas during the second half of 1997. On this basis, the ballot might take place in early 1999.
