HC Deb 10 March 1997 vol 292 c113W
Ms Lynne

To ask the Secretary of State for Health in what circumstances patients are not entitled to NHS prescribing resulting from a private consultations; and what guidance is published by his Department to health authorities on the procedures they should follow for NHS prescribing in relation to patients who have previously had a private consultation. [19116]

Mr. Malone

Doctors may provide national health service prescriptions only when they are providing NHS services; for general practitioners, this is set out in their terms and conditions of service. No further guidance has been issued.
