HC Deb 04 March 1997 vol 291 c581W
Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he is taking to prevent closure of voluntary sector projects which would formerly have been eligible for a three-year extension subject to positive evaluation. [18173]

Mr. Raymond S. Robertson

Under "Programme for Partnership", it is for local partnerships to make decisions on the extension of voluntary sector projects funded through the urban programme.

Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much of the urban programme underspend he will use to fund voluntary sector projects for one more year, in areas that were not awarded priority partnership area or regulation programme status. [18174]

Mr. Robertson

There is no reason to expect an urban programme underspend in 1996–97.

Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will meet representatives of the Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector to discuss the use of urban programme underspend to avoid imminent closure of voluntary sector projects. [18175]

Mr. Robertson

I met representatives of the Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector on 24 January 1997 to discuss its concerns about voluntary sector projects. I have already agreed to a further meeting with it on Friday 4 April 1997.
