§ Sir Paul BeresfordPlanning guidance in respect of waste disposal, including landfill, is contained in planning policy guidance note 23 "Planning and Pollution Control". This guidance is being revised in stages and the first part, to be published later this year, will deal with waste management. Attention is drawn to the need to consider the risks of water pollution and the effects of traffic in both the original PPG and the revision.
