To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make the existing National Breast Implant Registry compulsory; and if he will make a statement. [3170]

Mr. Boateng

We have no plans at present to make the National Breast Implant Registry compulsory. Any changes to the policy on breast implants must await the report of the Independent Review Group set up recently by the Chief Medical Officer.
