§ Mr. MorleyA maximum stocking density of 34 kg/m2 is recommended for broilers in the welfare code on domestic fowls. We will consider whether this provision needs changing in the light of(a) the results of scientific work commissioned following a recommendation from the Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) in 1992 and (b) the further advice FAWC has undertaken to give when those scientific results are available.
