§ Clare ShortBritain gives bilateral aid to over 160 countries. All new bilateral aid is provided on grant terms. Details are set out in Table 7 of the 1996 edition of British Aid Statistics (deposited in the Library of the House in January 1997). These and other countries also benefit from UK contributions to the multilateral development institutions of which we are a member.
