asked Her Majesty's Government:
Which specific social and economic factors they are including in the Health of the Nation targets; and
How they propose to monitor, measure and inform the public about progress towards the Health of the Nation targets, taking into account the influence of specific social and economic factors.

On 7 July, my honourable friend the Minister for Public Health outlined our plans for the Health of the Nation in her speech to a Health Strategy Conference. A copy of the speech has been placed in the Library. We shall publish a Green Paper onOur Healthier Nation in the autumn.
