To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will make a statement on the role of the Better Regulation Unit in his Department. [4936]

The Government is committed to ensuring that regulations are simple, helpful and fair for business and the citizen.
The work of the Better Regulation Unit will contribute to my Department's White Paper on "New Government" to be published in the autumn, setting out a unified programme for the renewal of government.
