To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many job vacancies were advertised in the(a) Kilwinning and (b) Irvine job centres in each of the past six months; and how many people were registered as being unemployed during these periods in the parliamentary constituency of Cunninghame, South. Donohoe, dated 20 January 1997: The Secretary of State has asked me to reply to your question about the number of job vacancies advertised in the Kilwinning and Irvine Jobcentres in each of the last six months; and how many people were registered as being unemployed during these periods in the parliamentary constituency of Cunninghame South. This is something which falls within the responsibilities delegated to me as Chief Executive of the Agency. For ease of reference I have attached, as Annex 1, a breakdown of the number of vacancies advertised in Kilwinning and Irvine Jobcentres over the last six months. In answer to the second part of your question I have listed below the total number of unemployed claimants registered in the Cunninghame South constituency over the last six months.
