The Home Secretary has asked me, in the absence of the Director General from the office, to reply to your recent Question about medicines issued at Cardiff, Downview, Everthorpe and Swansea prisons.The information is not available in the form requested. However we are able to provide figures for the number of prescription sheets issued in 1996 for each of the prisons listed. Each prescription sheet may cover one or more medicines.
