Friend the Secretary of State for Defence met his German opposite number in November, when Herr Ruhe confirmed that Germany expected to make a decision on the production investment and production phases of Eurofighter early in 1997. I met my German opposite number most recently on 5 December 1996, when he reaffirmed Germany's commitment to the programme.
