§ Mr. HanleyAs I made clear in the debate on 4 December,Official Report, columns 969–73 our policy is to encourage all initiatives which promote reconciliation and recognise the sacrifices made by former prisoners of war. The British Government have made extensive efforts to develop non-governmental approaches and some activities such as exchange visits are going ahead.
