§ Mr. HoramThe national weighted capitation formula is used to provide a calculation of each health authority's fair share of available resources, known as its weighted capitation target. Changes in the calculated target inform the allocations process, they do not direct it. Changes in targets do not lead to immediate and corresponding changes in actual allocations.
The table shows the effect of the new formula on targets for health authorities in Yorkshire in 1997–98.
