§ Mr. ArbuthnotAmended protocol II to the United Nations convention on prohibitions or restrictions on the use of certain conventional weapons which may be deemed to be excessively injurious or have indiscriminate effects regulates the use and transfer of certain types of mines. This amended protocol was adopted on 3 May 1996. The United Kingdom signed the convention on 10 April 1981. There are no international agreements covering the manufacture of land mines or related equipment.
