To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many Welsh hospitals have had to suspend non-emergency admissions in the past three months. [14452]

I understand that 15 Welsh hospitals have closed at different times to non-emergency admissions since the beginning of November.

I have been impressed by the way in which health authorities and trusts have worked together to minimise the impact of medical emergency admissions on elective cases. This is a significant improvement over previous years.
