§ Ms JowellThe Chief Medical Officer has consistently taken the view that any tissues which have been shown to transmit bovine spongiform encephalopathy should be kept out of the human food chain. He confirmed these views in respect of dorsal root ganglia directly the Spongiform Encephalopathy Advisory Committee advice was received on the morning of 3 December 1997.
