To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if teaching quality assessment will continue in Scotland after 1998. [21152]

In response to the recommendations in the report of the Committee of Inquiry into Higher Education, the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council have proposed that they cease Teaching Quality Assessment on completion of the current cycle in 1998.
