§ Ms RuddockIn his pre-Budget statement, my right hon. Friend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced a £300 million package of investment in child care provision over the next five years. This announcement was widely welcomed by women's groups and voluntary organisations.
Key players in child care provision—including women's groups—will be invited to a conference on the National Child care Strategy, hosted jointly by the Secretaries of State for Social Security and for Education and Employment, in January.
