Letter from Peter Mathison to Helen Jones, dated 8 December 1997: The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to respond to your recent Parliamentary Questions asking for details of the number of people in Warrington North constituency and North West region who are currently in receipt of Attendance Allowance (AA) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA). The number of customers in receipt of AA in the Warrington North constituency is approximately 1,900, as at 31 August 1997. The number of customers in receipt of DLA in the Warrington North constituency is approximately 4,100 and in the North West region is approximately 229,600, as at 31 August 1997. The North West Region consists of Cumbria, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire counties. These figures have been extrapolated from a 5% sample in conjunction with postcode data. The forecast for New Claims for DLA is not available. I hope you find this helpful.
