§ Mr. Wilshire
To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list by practice(a) the under spend and (b) the overspend of general practitioner fundholding practices in the West Surrey Health Authority area in each year since 1993.
§ Mr. Milburn
Information is not held centrally on expenditure from general practitioner fund holder budgets at practice level. Such information can be obtained directly from the practices concerned.
The table details the number of GP fundholders showing retained savings (net of any savings voluntarily returned to their health authority before audit) or overspending in Surrey in each financial year from 1993–94 to 1995–96, and the total level of retained savings or overspends made on their budgets. These data are taken from GP fundholders' accounts. Audited data for 1996–97 are not yet available.349W
