§ Mr. SackvilleInformation on the practice in other member states of the European Union with regard to donations of this kind is not available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. In the United Kingdom, there are no restrictions on political parties receiving such donations, but each of the major political parties has adopted a voluntary code of practice which prohibits acceptance of donations from foreign Governments or rulers.
