Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much his Department has spent on(a) publicity, (b) promotions, and (c) hospitality in each of the last six years. [40626]

Mr. Horan

Annual publicity spend information and hospitality spend for the financial years 1990–91 to 1995–96 is shown in the table. Promotions cannot easily be separated from publicity but the majority of health promotion work is in any case carried out by the Health Education Authority and other bodies.
