§ Sir Paul BeresfordThe European Week for Safety and Health was aimed to encourage organisations themselves to raise awareness about hazards in the workplace and to be more effective in managing health and safety. In the UK we especially encouraged participation in the "Good Health is Good Business" campaign. I am extremely pleased that over 10,000 UK organisations registered an interest in participating in the European week. The Health and Safety Executive supported the week at a cost of £50,000.
