§ Mr. BowisI understand that London Underground's refurbishment and tunnel strengthening works on the East London line are well under way and that London Underground is aiming to complete the works and re-commission the line in time to re-open it in late summer 1997. The works were originally programmed to take place between March and October 1995. They are now proceeding on schedule.
