Sir Sydney Chapman

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the percentage of the population served by general practitioner fundholders in each health authority in England. [30584]

Mr. Malone

The percentage of the population served by general practitioner fundholders in each health authority in England is given in the table.

who miss child health or general practitioner health screening, immunisation and developmental checks. The latest data available, published in October 1994, shows that 96 per cent. or 25,400 general practitioners perform childhood immunisations and 94 per cent. 24,900 carry out child health surveillance.

School doctors include community paediatrician and general practitioners depending on local arrangements and therefore cannot be identified separately in Department statistics.
