§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe development of the Read 3 project is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health. The Scottish Office Department of Health is not contributing to the costs of the development but is monitoring its progress. Many general practitioners in Scotland currently use a form of Read version 2, which is also being piloted for hospitals in Scotland.
