To ask the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has to bring forward legislation to replace the Export and Import Control Act 1990. [29350]

Mr. Nelson

I plan to publish a consultative paper on export licensing procedures in the summer. I shall consider, in the light of representations made to me in response to that paper, whether new legislation is needed to replace the Export and Import Control Act 1990.
