§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonMy noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate has confirmed that it would be wholly inappropriate to give details of those individuals involved in this investigation or of the instructions given by Crown counsel. As I stated in my reply to a question from the hon. Member on 29 April, column376, it would also be inappropriate to disclose details of the investigation. The Lord Advocate has confirmed, however, that no charges have been brought against any person. The regional procurator fiscal decided on 2 June 1995 that an investigation should be conducted by Strathclyde police. Crown counsel was aware of this decision, which has been kept under review.
