To ask the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has to increase the powers of the mines inspectorate so that owners who fail to produce a valid certificate of insurance will have their licence to work a mine withdrawn. [27295]

I have no such plans. However, failure to produce a valid certificate of insurance can lead to prosecution.
