To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many private finance initiative schemes have now been agreed in(a) Strathclyde and (b) Scotland. [18042]

The allocation of revenue funding to the fire service in Scotland is a matter for local authorities. As to capital allocations, in consequence of the reorganisation of local government there will be a separate programme for fire service capital allocations, starting at a level significantly about average spending in previous years.
