HC Deb 05 March 1996 vol 273 c139W
Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much money has been(a) awarded and (b) paid to Leicestershire county council for (a) the eastern district distributor road and (b) the A46–A47 link road in each year since the start of the scheme. [17049]

Mr. Norris

No resources have been allocated for EDDR.

The A46–A47 link road has been accepted for the transport supplementary grant since 1985–86. The following amounts have been accepted:

1985–86 135 135 21
1986–87 681 681 133
1987–88 1,459 1,200 20

1993–94 2,026 2,026 90
1994–95 741 741 150
1995–96 1,348 750 1315
1996–97 3,740 20

TSG is paid at a rate of 50 per cent. of accepted expenditure, with the remainder being allocated as credit approvals. Grant may be adjusted downwards because of underspending in earlier years, but this is calculated on the authority's programme as a whole. It is not possible to say how much of Leicestershire's grant adjustments relate to underspending on this scheme.

1 Budget figure.

2 Although no resources were sanctioned, the scheme was accepted for TSG and remains eligible for further support.
