To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what inquiries are being conducted into transfers of Iraqi funds from Geneva to London. [17857]

[holding answer 28 February 1996]: None. We have no knowledge of any such transfers in breach of United Nations sanctions against Iraq being made in the first instance, it would be for the Swiss authorities to investigate, as appropriate, any transfers suspected of involving a breach of sanctions.
