Mr. Illsley

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list by county the total numbers of(a) families, (b) single men, (c) single women and (d) men and women under the age of 18 years, who were registered as homeless during (i) 1994 and (ii) 1995. [18631]

Mr. Moss

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. I am advised by the chief executive that figures can be provided only for those applicants who were accepted as homeless and awarded A1 priority status. The information is available only on a financial year basis and by Housing Executive region, not by county.

(2) if he will list by Housing Executive region the total numbers on housing waiting lists and the number of A 1 applicants. [18681]

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. I am advised by its chief executive that the total numbers on the housing waiting list, the number of applicants granted A1 status and the percentage change in A1 status at 31 March 1994 and 1995, by Housing Executive region, were as follows:
