To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what expenditure has been incurred by each department in respect of courses delivered by the Pacific Institute. [34088]

Expenditure incurred by the Northern Ireland Departments and the Northern Ireland Office in respect of courses delivered by the Pacific Institute isDepartment of Environment: £90,000. The DOE also has a contract with the institute for the supply of the institute's investment in excellence programme to its staff with delivery being undertaken by the Department's trainers over three financial years. The contract is formulated on a per capita basis for some 8,500 staff and it is estimated will cost in the region of £750,000. In addition, £11,000 has been provided through the Making Belfast Work initiative to enable a version of the investment in excellence programme to be made available to disadvantaged groups. Department of Finance and Personnel: £4,200. Department of Economic Development: £12,194. The Departments of Agriculture, Education, Health and Social Services and the Northern Ireland Office have not incurred any expenditure in respect of the Pacific Institute.
