§ Mr. MacleanInformation collected centrally by my Department on court proceedings under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 section 9—protection of certain wild animals—does not identify the animal involved or the subsection under which the offence was placed. However, our statistics show that in 1994—the latest year for which figures are available—there were a total of seven prosecutions under section 9.
