To ask the President of the Board of Trade how much electricity was produced from wind turbines in the United Kingdom in(a) 1992, (b) 1994 and (c) 1995; and if he will make a statement. [30801]

Electricity generated by wind schemes in the UK in each of the years 1990 to 1995 was approximately as follows:

I expect the numbers to continue to rise year by year as more wind farms come into operation.
