To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many dwellings have been bought under(a) the right-to-buy and (b) the rent-to-mortgage schemes; and if he will make a statement. [30042]

(ii) female employees, (b) the number of officials employed at each of the principal grades and the number and percentage of women employed at each of these grades and (c) the number of staff employed at administrative grades and the number and percentage of these staff who are women in his Department on 1 April. Between the introduction of right-to-buy legislation in October 1980 and the end of December 1995, local authorities and new towns in England reported total sales under RTB of 1.25 million homes. In the same period, housing associations reported right-to-buy sales of 28,000.

Between the introduction of the rent-to-mortgage scheme in October 1993, and the end of December 1995, there have been 16 completed sales.
