§ Mr. Soames[holding answer 22 May 1996]: The defence and wider foreign policy aims which underlie the provision of military training assistance include the promotion of peace and stability, the spread of democratic values and the strengthening of standards in the armed forces. Details of the assistance provided is confidential between Governments; however, no military training assistance is currently being provided to Sudan.
