What steps were taken to ensure regular inspection of the 41 rendering plants in Great Britain following publication in February 1988 of the report of the working party on BSE (the Southwood Report).

Following the introduction of the Bovine Offal (Prohibitions) Regulations 1989, rendering plants were inspected every two months by officers of the State Veterinary Service.
