HC Deb 24 July 1996 vol 282 cc587-8W
Mr. Bayley

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many people used the Benefits Agency's information services in North Yorkshire in each year since 1992–93. [38933]

Mr. Roger Evans

This is an operational matter for Peter Mathison, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member.

Letter from Peter Mathison to Mr. Hugh Bayley, dated 23 July 1996: The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question asking how many people used in Benefits Agency's (BA's) information services in North Yorkshire in each year since 1992–93. The information is not available in the format requested. I have assumed that the reference to Benefits Agency Information Services is about the Mobile Information Unit (MIU) covering the BA District of North Yorkshire. This District has offices in York, Harrogate, Northallerton, Richmond, Selby, Malton and Ripon. Figures for the number of people who used the service were kept from 1994/95 only and are shown below: 1994–95: 2,304 1995–96: 2,642 Figures are provisional and subject to change. I hope you find this reply helpful.
