To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to privatise nursing accommodation. [39063]

It is for national health service trusts to determine, as part of their recruitment and retention policies, what staff residential accommodation they require and how that accommodation is to be provided.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what guidance he has issued in respect of the provision of accommodation to nursing students. [39062]

Mr. Malone

The guidance HSG(93)6, issued on 28 January 1993, advises national health service employers on the provision of accommodation for Project 2000 students. Copies are available in the Library.
