HC Deb 22 July 1996 vol 282 c18W
Mr. Bayley

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department how many actions for repossession of a mortgaged home were started, and how many repossessions were granted, in York county court in each of the last seven years. [38873]

Mr. Streeter

The question concerns a specific operational matter on which the chief executive of the Court Service is best placed to provide an answer and I have accordingly asked the chief executive to reply direct.

Letter from M. D. Huebner to Mr. Hugh Bayley, dated 22 July 1996:

The Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department has asked me to reply to your Question about repossession proceedings at York County Court.

The following table shows the number of possession actions started and the number of possession orders made at York in the last seven years. As not all orders result in the issue and execution of a warrant of possession, I am unable to tell you how many properties were repossessed in this period.
